Deral Propst

Deral brings over 25 years of experience in organizational management to the JWB Family Law team, helping to train staff, set procedures, and create efficient records management systems.

After doing organizational work for a family law attorney six years ago, Deral found a niche for helping other firms develop more efficient systems. He became a registered process server to assist family law attorneys, and later joined JWB Family Law as a contractor, tasked with training and organization. He recently joined JWB Family Law as their full time Records Manager and Assistant Office Manager.

In his free time, Deral is finishing his B.A. in Business Administration from Wichita State University and enjoys reading Sci-Fi and Fantasy books, building computers, and traveling.

The Importance of the CFLS Designation

A Certified Family Law Specialist, or CFLS, is an attorney who has obtained certification in the standards of California family law and demonstrated optimal legal competence. Attorneys who obtain this certification have specific expertise in all aspects of family law, which includes divorce or the dissolution of marriagechild and spousal support, child custody, and temporary restraining orders, among other areas of emphasis.

Not every attorney practicing family law has obtained this certification. In fact, the designation remains relatively rare—there are fewer than 2,000 CFLS attorneys in California and fewer than 200 in San Diego.
